Today I had a more relaxed job at a known location so I brought my 5d2 and new 100 2.8 IS L macro along for the ride to figure out some things. (My usual kit is a 7d with 18-35 1.8, I wanted to see how the 18-35 behaved at 35mm on the 5d2, and I wanted to use the 100 on people, and figure out how reliable was the stabilization in a somewhat stressful situation)
Well I was pretty fucking blown away. This is 1/20th handheld.
ALSO the thing is god damn LIGHT. Like really, without a speedlight on it, the 5d2 and 100mm combo felt like a compact camera, weight wise. I kept it slinged on my back for hours without even feeling it.
Like really if anyone here is on the edge about getting this or something else, get this. I'd rank it higher than the 135mm f/2 for potraits just because it's so god damn comfortable and light. Plus focusing is really lighting fast and spot on even on a 5d2.
