i got my first dslr back in December, and looking back on those pics I haven't improved as much as I feel I should- though I definitely have a better idea of what makes a good image, even though I still don't take very many.
In that time I've also moved into film and spend more time shooting that now which does help to slow you down and really think about each shot. I also browse this board and post images here and listen to the criticism and try to improve.
