>>3508074It's often an uneasy task to recreate in your photos what you have in mind. Forming an idea is what comes before, but the translation of thoughts into movements - and lastely (if needed) into yet different pictures during the post process - is not easy for me. To take this picture as an example. We're all having the basic feeling of "this might look nice" after some time. Many might translate this thought into "I need to take a longexp, to show the cars movement and capture the lights". While others think of capturing the exact moment, in hope of giving back the feeling of being there.
So what makes a good photo a good photo? It's probably a mixture of many aspects, ranging from light quality, moment, relevance in time/ history, quality of capture to compositional elements. Getting all of them right, might give you the perfect photo, getting only one, or a couple right a nice picture to look at
What was my motive behind this shot? Probably to give back the feeling of walking close to wet street, during a storm, while the cars are passing by. The feeling of being lost in the city lights. Or maybe just a photo of some shiny lights
