Does anyone here use a Holga Digital? You know, the one that was produced through Kickstarter a few years back (2015 i think)?
This camera seems to have been a complete flop. Apparently when it first came out, they made the kickstarter supporters wait a full month after it was released in stores to actually send them their camera. The company did not communicate with the people either, even when they requested refunds after not receiving their camera or from defective models.
The build quality isn't great either, and instead of the listed "glass lens" and "switchable f/2.8 / f/8" aperture, these don't seem to exist on the camera. There is no screen to view the images, and sometimes the cf card apparently doesnt work out of the box and needs to be formatted by the camera itself to be functional.
With that all being said, it sounded fun to me, so I picked one up. It was only $20 at my local Urban Outfitters, down from the original $80. I just couldn't pass that up, however shitty it was and is. I personally like it so far, though I can see why people would be critical if they had to pay full price for this. It's a Holga, though, so what were people honestly really expecting? I do wish that it had an original holga lens in front of the sensor, instead of just an average tiny webcam type lens that it does. Either way, its shitty.
Does anyone out there own/use this camera regularly? Do you have thoughts about it other than the ones already out there? I am interested in hearing about ways to make this camera functional and easier to use. I would really like to know what is up with the sunny/cloudy setting. It seems to change the white balance, but it doesn't seem to change the shutter speed or aperture exactly. I also really want to know if anyone has experiences with using a flash with this, as I always seem to get totally blown out photographs, even with cheap, light duty flashes.
