It seems to be really sharp in the centre.
Anon I'd try to make a soft focus lens in the Imagon fashion (pic related).
Central hole makes a sharp image, and the peripheral holes overlay a soft/hazy image on top of the sharp one. It was a popular look, and it would be a nice diy.
