While I don't ignore colour when shooting, I really consider it to be one of the least important aspects of a photo. It can be so easily tweaked in post that really the only colours I ever watch for are:
- mismatched lights for balancing flashes or window light (florescent can be a nightmare)
- 'thematic' or 'aesthetic' colour: Colour that adds or contributes to the photograph in an 'artsy' sense.
I really don't think the 'quality' of in-camera colour matters as it can be so easily tweaked in post.
Looking at this shot with some retrospect, I think I pushed the green channels a bit too far, but it looked positively washed out straight out of the camera. I'm sure a decent editor could even do more than I could with the RAW.
