MFT and Fuji fell for it and just kept inflating camera and lens sizes scrambling to close the gap with FF, when they should have been leaning into their strengths.
I'm convinced that the success of the A7III completely derailed Fuji for years... the promise that the X-T1 and the F2 primes showed for premium compact kit was left unrealized while they worked on big video-focused cameras and huge ultrasharp primes. Only tossing those who wanted compact kit a bone with lower end non-weather sealed cheap bodies.
At least they seemed to have course corrected the X-T series with the X-T5. Hopefully the replacement 18-55 with WR is announced on the 20th and maybe throw us a bone with some more premium compact primes.
