It does. The good news is you can keep your digital camera as a scanner. That's what I did and I saved a ton of money in scanning costs. Plus it's a lot of fun.
My advice for buying a film body is start by looking at the lenses and see if the lens selection is good for how you like to shoot and if you can afford them. All film cameras are pretty similar in feature set especially by the 90s.
