Most automatic lenses on MFT are "fly by wire" focussing, which is the worst form of focussing. Autofocus is well for photography, but for videos, it looks unnatural, especially if the lens is focus-hunting. Fully manual focussing just gives a better feel.
Effects that are attempted to be recreated in post do 2 things:
1. look unnatural
2. eat away on my time, especially in video, because adjusting video takes way more than adjusting photos
If you just do everything in post you are like someone who zooms his kitlens in and out rather than changing position and reframing the shot: not working to improve the shot, but only fixing mistakes later.
There is nothing inherently bad about vintage lenses. The better ones are still in fine conditions and while not super-sharp like modern lenses, very suitable for videos and ontop of that, super cheap compared to modern lenses of comparable stats.
