>>3612833I'm readying this one right now and it does seem great so far, but not aimed at beginners and doesn't seem focused on explaining concepts, more providing insight on things the reader is already expected to be familiar with. As far as instructional books go, I recommend Michael Freeman's stuff for beginners. I read "perfect exposure" and then "the photographer's eye" and I I think they're better than the "understanding exposure" one that always gets posted here, although I haven't read that one in its entirety (the scan in the sticky is barely legible). Freeman has a good system for explaining and introducing basic concepts, and between those two books you get a comprehensive overview. The pdfs linked in the sticky are pretty low res though, the text is perfectly legible but the images are shit. You can find higher res versions of most of them online, even if it's sort of a pain in the ass. He seems like a talented photojournalist, but there's definitely better fine art photography in this one
