>>3741285Good but overpriced:
>Canon AE-1 Program/AE1 etc.: clunky ergonomics. Decent camera though. I much prefer the A1 if you're gonna go with canon. >Pentax K1000 (not bad but very overpriced for what it is, lenses feel plasticky to me which I dislike)>Minolta X-700: Awesome camera, would recommend if you happen to find it cheap. MUCH better than AE-1 program in terms of ergonomics, also has a great shutter soundLesser recommended but still just as good:
>OM1: haven't used one myself but the fact that it's small seems really appealing to me.>Pentax Super Program: Really small and light, bright viewfinder. I liked this camera a lot. > Canon FTb QL: Built very solid, I think if you want something similar to a K1000 this is a great way to go since it has match needle metering.> Pentax Spotmatic: One of the best full manual SLR's I've used. The takumar lenses are amazingly good and are built out of metal instead of plastic. Thousands of different lenses were made in the M42 mount for it so you can get cheap glass. > Nikon FG: if you want something similar to the AE-1 program this is way better built and cheaper with the same features.I think in general if you want more features, go with Nikon FG,FE,FA etc. Or Pentax Super Program.
If you want something manual go with a Spotmatic, or Nikon F2
