I'm not sure if it belongs here but I'm currently working on modifying the software that controls my drum scanner. The scanner software (like everything in the drum scanner world) stopped being supported in 2003, I think the scanners themselves were sold through 1999 or so.
I managed to find a version for Mac OS 9 which still had a lot of the debug symbols and other clues I needed to reconstruct how the software works from the binary. I'm now trying to backport newer features from the last versions released for the earlier version for which I have a hardware license key dongle.
In the process I'm trying to fix the 16 bit RAW output support for my model. This was only introduced near the end of life of the software and it was always buggy to the point of being unusable on the Scanmate 5000. Only the 11000 ever had a working implementation.
I also wrote a Sony ARW renderer a few months ago, I'll post a few of the work in progress images of going from raw data to a decent rendition soonish.
