Here's the top lenses and bottom lenses for nikon on dxo. Zoom lenses in the the top are highlighted red, primes in the bottom highlighted blue - note that the one prime at the bottom is for the Nikon v series.
If Zooms were so good, why are they not all over the top, in fact if you want anything "normal" (between 35 and 70) you're shit out of luck, their best constant aperture normal zoom is one place ahead of the nikon 1 18.5mm prime - which is by all accounts, not great.
