Alright but portrait modes still look like garbage, megapixels mean nothing anymore, the dynamic range claims are generally overstated by 10-20% in dxo testing, the absurdly small sensor sizes mean the f/1. 8 and f/2 8mm lenses end up more like a f/5.6 24mm lens which is why they're still garbage in low light or any situation where the subject is moving.
Maybe (a big maybe), if someone completely reinvents the camera, a smartphone might compete with DSLRs.
The problem phone manufacturers face is physics. Not tech.
The lens will have to be half the width of the phone before they can truly compete and they'll need to protrude too far to fit in a pocket.
Even then they might kill the DSLR but a good camera on a phone will only help the photographer.
This was taken on the weekend from about 15 meters away at f4. Could have taken it at f2 with a camera and lens half the price of the current iPhone
