>>3189908Here's a diagram right from my ebook showing how you tilt for the scene you're describing. The angle of the tilt is greatly exaggerated in the diagram from what you would actually use in the field, usually just a tiny amount does the trick.
You mentioned tilting "upwards" but I would consider that in my head to be a downward tilt for the front standard of the camera. The other thing you can do is leave the front vertical and instead use rear tilt, tilting the top of the back of the camera slightly towards the rear. I don't do this very often, but this will exaggerate the size of the flowers in the foreground and also create maximum DOF.
