>>3235807>>3236280I dont think I'll ever get to the stage where I can charge people for doing this, (not these types of pics anyway) and still feel ethical. The outlay on decent equipment is pretty prohibitive, and its a devastatingly competitive field since the DSLR came on the scene. (Probably even before then, but I wasn't taking pictures yet because of the fore-mentioned price tag). Nowadays everyone and their grandmother seem to have a 'foto-business.'
As far as ugly people, I am quite intrigued with 'how ugly can you go' and still have a nice to look at picture. I never commented on the larger model pic above, (also in the recent thread) simply because while the pictures seem technically excellent, I really dont like the model. I would have to get paid for that shoot simply because she cant offer anything to achieve the type of picture I'm looking for. (And holy fuck I'm conceited).
Conversly, I just got asked last week to do a trap from my wifes work, and after seeing his/her pics on FB I said yeah. This guy looks 7ft high and 3 across the shoulders, but with the face of a maybe-not-ugly woman. Lots of shadow and not going wider than the ears, who knows? I'm kinda looking forward to it in a morbid way.
