>basically just not be a creep and learn how to interact with people and build a good rapport.I couldn't agree more, but most of the "street" shooters I run into are just awkward assholes who stuff cameras in peoples faces, often at the worst possible time. Most street is just cancer.
I don't shoot street and the flash is never on my camera like pic related (though I do use studio strobes from time to time). When shooting in the city the Crown Graphic attracts a lot of people who are mostly just curious, and maybe want to tell you about their uncle's, or grandfather's old camera. Occasionally after talking they want their photo taken, so I'll go through the motions but often not pull the dark slide. But mostly I am waiting around for people to get out of the shot.
>>3270800B&W film is about $2 cnd a shot, it's not so bad because shots are so much more considered than 35mm spam style shooting or even MF. If i get 6 shots off in an outing that is a lot. shooting studio for a client I'll go through a box or 2 of 25 sheets, but they are paying for it.
