>>3998870>>3998872>That was Nikon misunderstanding the fujifilm userbase.Yes.
>The hipster look alone didn't cut it, it needed a sensor that could compete with the Xt3 at a minimum. For the people who are buying one of these cameras for the aesthetics, the sensor competes just fine with a Fuji, but the sensor *is* the problem with the Zfc. It needed to be a full frame. Nikon needs a camera to compete with the EOS RP's $1000 price point, but which brings something extra. As long as it has some silver trim, ergonomics comparable to a film SLR from the 70s, then it would have been a sales hit. I also think that the 28mm f/2.8 lens was a mistake. A 70s era film SLR-emulating camera needs a 50mm f/1.8 lens equivalent. Analog dials are fine, but I think a lot of people will compromise with a top LCD screen--I don't know why manufacturers are so reluctant to give mirrorless cameras a top LCD. Just put the mode dial on the left shoulder and put a top LCD on the right shoulder, where it goddamn belongs. We don't need more analog dials. Just a screen to passively display settings without sucking the battery dry.
