>>4090481>do you guys trust your cameras lightmeters/auto settings?Yes. My P&S is perfect for all reasonable situations. See picrel. It's just a snapshot which is what I use this camera for anyway but it exposed the subject well, or at least well enough for me.
I had a Minolta maxxum, well I still do, but the one lens I had for it broke at the flange, and also the camera was stuck in Program mode, so I had to trust it, but it shot perfect exposures every single time.
Now I use a Minolta X570 and I sometimes shoot it in manual mode but usually I use the aperture priority mode and yes, I trust it. It doesn't use a selenium photocell.
I also have some cameras from the 50s that do use a selenium cell and as far as I can tell the meters kind of work but those I don't fully trust. I just eyeball it on those.
