>>4143973 lets say you like the distortion of the 200mm shot, but want it to be a waist up shot instead of head and shoulders. Since you like that amount of distortion, we stay in the same position, and switch to a wider lens (say 135mm) to show more around the subject.
If I were to instead stick with the 200mm, and move further back for the change in framing, I'd also be affecting the perspective.
