My main camera right now is a TLR with a soft lens and terrible ergonomics, so I'm looking to add both a new digital for and a more modern film camera with better lenses and ergonomics to my lineup.
My first reaction was to get the Canon EOS system for both and share lenses, but then I started looking into other systems and found out that the Fujifilm X-T3 fits my digital use case perfectly. At about 3/4 the cost and 1/2 the weight of the equivalent EOS full-frame setup the X-T3 is a lot more likely to be "the one I have with me", while the EOS bag will be more likely to be sitting in a cupboard. I used to suffer from FF envy when I shot crop back in the '00s, but with today's cameras, I can't really make a case for the extra weight and cost.
How much would I be missing out on not being able to use an EOS film SLR with my main lenses? With a digital as the main camera and film as a special occasion type of thing, maybe I could just as well go with a more manual and lighter weight 35mm SLR, or maybe a more exotic medium format SLR or rangefinder.
