>>3767082You will literally have a noisier image if you crop and it’s at a high enough ISO to be noticeable. You’re displaying the image at a larger magnification. Image level and pixel level noise are strongly related but not identical. When you stack images or merge pixels together you reduce noise and improve DR.
Same thing happens when you display an image, you have way more pixels then your display output, many of the pixels will be merged together for an increase in image SNR.
Pic related is same magnification, the image will look about as good in noise as an A7s or at least similar, as it’s the same sensor size, collects the same amount of light. Despite the pixel level noise being higher - because you display the image as a whole for viewing purposes whether on a screen or in print and not 100% crops.
