As far as the main question in the thread I love my GXR, I have the Leica mount A12 and S10 for a little 3x zoom point and shit.
Ricoh's colour rendering is by far the best of any cameras I have tested under $500
Fuji fucked up royally when they ditched the Supper CCD, and their DR and colour went to hyper saturated shit.
Sony just saturates colour all to hell, great for video and high ISO but I seldom shoot stills with my a6000 even though it slays the Ricoh in resolution, the Ricoh still wins in my book.
