I'm mainly looking for a camera that can take better quality photos than my smartphone or any other top cameracentric smartphones on the market. By “better quality,” I don’t mean professionally composed or technically perfect photos, I just want images that don’t look overly processed or artificial when you zoom in. That's it.
My main use cases will be taking photos during family trips and recording high-quality videos for product reviews (I’m an action figure hobbyist). I’ll eventually take the time to learn photography properly, but right now I just want a straightforward camera that delivers noticeably better image and video quality than my phone.
I haven’t had much time to research since there are so many camera types and technical terms to understand. For someone like me, would a point-and-shoot camera be enough, or should I go for a DSLR or a used mirrorless camera? Thanks for the advice all.
