>600mm lensYou don't get it, a 300mm lens is a 600mm lens if you just crop to that 16mp. If you're fine with a micro four thirds size sensor you would be fine with a micro four thirds crop. Just a few more megapixels (we know sony has 90mp FF sensors, for a fact, or else they wouldn't be able to supply fuji with the X-T5 sensor, but they might be holding them back because the market is obsessed with E-shutter) and crop sensors are honestly deprecated.
The only remaining concern is the weight obsession of backpackers and twinks. Micro four thirds being practically discontinued as a system already and the market trend towards larger cameras and lenses shows that's such a minority that it doesn't just not matter, it's most likely not even a valid concern.
