But if you're not a pro or made of gold, Sigma has quite a few ones that are insane values. Sigma has to be the price/performance king.
I have heard great things about a Tamron super telephoto zoom but I don't know anything about it. I was researching a Canon 100-400 and people kept bringing up a Tamron that was supposedly extremely good. I didn't look into it much further though as my 100-400 IS II should already be on the way, I dunno if 400 is considered super telephoto though. I don't think it quite is. Maybe.
If 400 is super telephoto, then the 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 L USM IS II is probably the absolute king of reasonably attainable telephoto zooms, hence why I just bought one.
I just don't know where people draw the line into "super" telephoto...But...You can do picrel with it. Something you can't do with the "replacement" RF 100-500...
