>>4099286>>OK you seem very experienced so can you help me out here? I wish, I'm just some dude who got gifted a camera and wanted to get cosplayer friends good pictures.
>>The first con I went to a few weeks back I used a 24-70mm f2.8. The versatility was great (group shots at 24mm, individual shots at 70mm) but I found myself mostly using 70mm for individual shots. For individual shots, I tried getting full body portraits or cutting off just before their feet. In some cases I felt like 70mm wasn't close enough and there are situations where you cannot physically get closer to the cosplayer(s).Should I even bother bringing my 85mm f1.4 to one of the cons or stick to using my 24-70mm f2.8?
I do usually bring a 85mm equivalent (lmao im on APSC so 56mm) to cons but it doesn't get used that much on the actual con floor and building. It really only gets brought out when I have ample space and aside from photoshoot areas the convention is too hectic to bother taking off my standard zoom.
>>I don't know how US cons do it but the cosplay sections are outdoors in Asiadepends on the con, Anime Expo has outside parking meeting areas while Otakon has horrendous tungsten yellow hotel ballrooms
>>nor do I want to carry another massive lens with me.fair, i only carry mine because it's compact
