After reassembling (1.5 times, the first go I had misaligned the usm and focus ring somehow so the ring didnt do anything), I have regained the use of autofocus and all apertures across the focal range. I will celebrate by continuing to primarily use my nifty fifty (eighty) which I purchased while this junk was busted. The IS is nice, though.
>>3620123I do indeed but I was so confident in my evidently prodigious abilities that I put it straight back together, at ease with the knowledge that my unparalled handiwork would not fail me, and I left the frickin meter in the dang shed silly me. I wasnt about to go traipsing out there in the rain when I was good and toasty inside.
