Take the ISO changing button (that unlocks the dial) for instance. Most cameras incorporate some kind of protection so you don't press it accidentally. Olympus found an ingenious way to do it: place it in the area between the shutter button guard, the ISO dial and the wind lever. The lever is tensioned, so when at rest, it forms a very small triangle with the shutter guard and ISO dial, so it's impossible to fit your finger there and press the button (pencildick jannies don't apply).
When you want to change the iso, you just move the wind lever and then there's ample space to press the button and turn the dial, no need for extra safeguarding mechanism.
