>>3559015>pretends to be meAhh so it really is all about gear insecurity, eh Olympanon?
>>3558940I own a few primes and 2 bodies. Got rid of my crop gear and TCs ages ago because I realized there is nothing more glorious than a fast prime (or very good zoom) on FF. Early on I thought more "reach" was the answer, but eventually learned that simplicity is better, and being physically closer gives much better results. The air alone diminishes quality a lot, so you should have as little of it between you and your subject as possible. I guarantee you that if you're using FF lenses (which you should be, for clarity) when you do get very close with a crop body, you will wish you were using FF because you run out of frame very fast. You can get so much closer with a FF body and still compose the same scene.
>>3558915>>3558921>handholdCome on, man. I think I have used a tripod maybe 20 times in the past 15 years, pic related. I bought this lens new and the foot is spotless apart from being worn down by holding it like a pistol grip. If I'm using hoods, battery grip and flash, it's nearly 14lb and I carry it for hours. The weight alone absorbs a lot of vibration.
