>>4326950>>4326969>>4326954It was bad chems. It was R100 process (B&W reversal from Foma). I'm not 100% sure what failed but it was either developer or bleach. I knew shit was fucked when there were no images forming during re-exposure, but I still went through the motions to the end. There are just slightly visible traces and streaks of developed silver near the ends of the film (so on the outside of the reel in the tank), but nothing resembling an image.
I know I did not mess up the process, I was super autistic about the temperatures and times and mixing solutions just prior to use.
It fucking hurts, I never had such catastrophic failure and never lost a single roll in over 20 years of home developing. I don't really feel like testing if it's the dev that's gone bad (I could presumably replace it with any other b&w dev) or the bleach, I'll probably dump the rest of the kit and develop the few remaining rolls of R100 I have as negatives.
