Muscle memory and simply using your kit will make you faster and faster.

Also, not sure what kind of shooting you do but I walk around often with my lens @ F8-F11 and prefocused.

Aren't you describing T mode?

This is how I shoot on my Bronica. To end the exposure I cup my hand over the front of the lens and then flip the lens switch to close the shutter. Fuck cable releases.
