>Used prices aren't much differenceStrange, the 58mm you could get it at 400 but it's 500 nowadays, the Zeiss is 600.
Supposedly the Voigt is sharper wide open but the nervous bokeh is a turn off for me when the 1.2 Nikkors are as nervous but faster, also many images i've seen show the Zeiss being the sharpest.
The transitions are allegedly better in the Voigt too and that one i've seen often but IMO the Planar has cleaner bokeh. For portraits and fast focusing the 58mm is probably better but the Planar is sharper and a bit more precise due to its long throw, in terms of the "microcontrast" both are practically the same, identical formula and made by the same people.
But the more expensive stuff like the 135mm Sonnar is what catches my attention, i've seen excellent stuff but i do not like its corrected bokeh looks and the softer Nikkor DC alternative has bokeh control and the transitions are less pronounced along with being priced half the Sonnar, it really is a compromise and i wanted to know how pronounced this is because i've seen Sigma-tier shit on Zeiss video tests, i mainly shoot mid-distance and diagonally so this is a valid concern unlike classic portrait fags or landscapers.
