To sum it up diy bulk load b/w film is the most cost effective but more time consuming. Home developing color isn't as hard as some people will say. I find developing your own film enjoyable and you are in control rather than some dude processing multiple rolls at once. You can get vastly different results with different dilutions and develops. You can even develop b/w with coffee, vitamin c and washing soda. Dedicated scanners are alot easier than dslr scanning and don't buy a flat bed scanner if your are only doing 35mm.
