The comparison clearly shows that the FF sensors, despite having wildly differing pixel sizes are all fairly close to each other, and way in front of the MFT sensor, and the MFT sensor being way behind despite having a similar pixel size to the A7rIV. Showing that the biggest impact is sensor size, and not pixel size, maybe you can tweak a bit more out of bigger pixel sizes, but it is secondary to sensor size. Even though at the pixel level the noise may be similar to the MFT sensor. It’s because the FF sensor collected more light overall. Another way to look at is even though the pixel level noise might be similar to MFT on the A7rIV, the image details are optically magnified more than on MFT, thus the image detail is physically larger vs noise, and the magnification is the same across FF sensors, resulting in similar results for various pixel sizes.
