What's the opinion about old dusty superzoom lenses for casual use? i know they are utter shit compared to any prime or even contemporary short zooms but for making medium sized images for web aka downsampled by half, are they okay? i know basic post-processing methods so i can, theoretically, fix some minor details like distortion or CA.
I'm talking about the 80's generic 28-200's (Vivitar, Sekinar, Kalimar), the mid-00's Tamron 28-300s, among others because for the price of a Nikkor 28-300 i can buy 5 or 6 of the dusty ones and honestly, other than AF, i cannot see much of a difference.
