There's a difference between filming in public, filming people in public and shoving a camera to a strangers face in public. In my country I think there's a law that you can film in public without a persons consent, if they're in a crowd and not recognizable or something like that. Obv street photography is a different matter and I don't think that is looked at the same way.
If I understood correctly there was a vague message of doing this in the way of free speech or freedom to film or something, but this really is not the way to do it. And how is passive CCTV in any way comparable to actively following people around and harassing them? Edgy videos for edgy comments veiled under something that it's not
