Recently took a photo class and liked it a lot. They had me using an old Canon EOS Rebel Mini with a 18-55mm F5.6 lens. Nothing fancy but it taught me how to work with the exposure triangle and other basic stuff. I enjoyed the class and want to get my own camera to learn more.
Currently deciding between DSLR and Mirrorless, and I'm thinking DSLR might be better for me (even though i like the way mirrorless looks. ah well). I like shooting by hand (or tripod when I need it) and I want to learn more about what lens is good for what situation.
As for what model, I'm looking at a local camera shop's stock and they're offering mostly Canon bundles that seem reasonable but with lenses that I don't think are really necessary. I'd be happy with a basic 18-55mm and one more but I'm not sure if it's better to just get a new body and used lenses or all new. Or all used?
Budget right now is ~$600, but if I need to beef it up and wait a few months before making a purchase I guess could do that. Open to anything
