>>3007144I dunno bro, I just shoot according to the scene at hand and ballpark everything. If something's backlit and I want to see its details I overexpose by what my meter is saying by 1-1.5 stops. If it's a normal, sunlit scene I trust my meter. If it's dark and a really bright sign is in the frame I'll overexpose by 1-1.5 stops.

If you're shooting negative film all you need to do is ballpark guess and you should be totally fine.
