I think they way it's done is kinda cringe, since at least of the handful of examples I've seen some look super staged and I can't help but think that they're taking the photos not for the photos' sake, but for the video of how they take them. Especially since they almost always seem to approach cute girls.
Though I still want to maybe try this myself to build my portfolio and get some practice in (I'm so tired of dragging out the same handful of people for shoots) and just get out of my comfort zone a little both in terms of photography and talking to people. Especially since my country is kinda fucky about street photography and I think you technically would have to ask the subjects for permission, which ruins the whole point of street photography. So I guess street portraiture is the closest I can get without worrying that some boomer will harass me about my camera.
What are your opinions, has anyone here ever done it?
