Now though the camera has a big problem. If I have the camera on and install the lens, it will detect the lens correctly. I can run through the aperature and use autofocus. I can sit therre forever seemingly and take pictures and refocus, or even dig through the menu. BUT, if I do not touch any buttons, within 3 seconds the top lcd will go to power save mode like normal, and after one more second, it stops working correctly. If I press any buttons, attempt to shoot a picture, or refocus, the camera will wake up, but I cannot adjust aperature or autofocus. The dispaly will no longer go to the bottom of the aperature either, yet only goes down to f4.5, the lowest if the lens was fully extended.
I did google this and found a couple of posts where people had the exact same problem, and they solved it with a firmware update. I tried this and it did not work.
I also tested the lens on my d3200 ad the aperature works perfectly fine and the lens has no issues asside from the body not having an AF motor.
