I've interacted with a bit of the digicam "community", and while I honestly don't buy into the CCD magic colours thing, I do think there are very underrated old cams out there waiting to be used.
The only series of cameras where I've been wowed by the unique colours is the early Kyocera cams, pic related comes from one produced by Kyocera but rebadged as Konica.
I use a Panasonic Lumix LX3 for most of my photography, which is technically a digicam, but is in reality just a very nice point and shoot with manual controls and RAW support.
I have a hard time believing in magic photos coming from Canon Ixus cameras or other JPEG only point and shoots.
