I've been borrowing a loaner DP3M from my rep for the past few 5 months (at this point I honestly think they forgot I have it).
Cons:
>Terrible ergonomics / handling, from menu system to grip of camera and even the placement of the strap lug, awful
>Slowest AF I can recall using, and this is someone that's owned many 1st gen mirrorless and tested hundreds of cameras in the last decade
>Terrible in low light, you can see banding / color noise at ISO 400, and higher ISO's basically have to be b&w
>Abysmal battery life, I'm lucky if I get 100 pictures on full charge
Pros:
>Great IQ, lens is super sharp, tons of detail and colors generally great
>The camera is so slow that it keeps me focused, it feels like I'm shooting my 4x5
>The macro of the DP3M is actually pretty decent, pic related
I'd never recommend for general purpose photography. Any of the nicer compacts (RX100, Canon G7, Coolpix A, Ricoh GR, Fuji X70, etc) are all better for 95% of pictures. Really though, they seemed groundbreaking at the time, but the quality of "normal" camera sensors has gotten so good now that I'd never bother with them now. To me they've gone from niche to novelty.
