What you can't do when you're taking a panorama, is compose is perfectly on the scene. You don't have a full view in viewfinder, you can't see where the frame ending are. It's all done by sight only, and when doing panoramas with very wide field of view, you can't even see the complete scene with eyes only. It's like doing fisheye photography without seeing fish eye results in the viewfinder. It's what's making them more challenging than people understand.
