It's possible you've driven by one or two of them, though many I find in mostly abandoned towns down smaller highways and even dirt roads in the far northern Great Plains. It's really a cool area to just wander and spend time. I'd driven through a few times in the past while heading to other destinations, but this year I made the plains the destination and had a few great trips there.
