I switched from the 27 to the 23 because I missed an aperture ring and generally having the sense you're holding something. Pancakes as great as they are lack something tactile.
The 35mm f2 meanwhile is just perfect. Short and small yet provides grip and a full sized aperture ring. It should be the standard size for compact lenses imo
