I dont know where else to post this guys so here. Im going to dump some info regarding my own personal experience in terms of hardware, particularly bodies themselves.
Canon, Nikon and Sony are rock solid in terms of reliability. Nikon and Sony have well known lens issues but they're not regarding direct mechanical failures so I can't speak much on it because it's an RMA retailer claim situation.
Olympus is the most dogshit company around. If someone leaked that they're using straight up reject sony and panasonic sensors I wouldn't be surprised. The amount of hot pixels I have seen on their cameras is beyond anything else. Straight out of the box most of the time, but sometimes within a few years they start to crop up, typically within months of a new purchase and it seems to be getting more common, especially in em5mkiii.
Fuji's quality control is lackluster. Fuji people already know that between different samples of the same lens, but it applies to the lens construction and bodies themselves, especially button actuation and weather sealing. Over time, the gaskets dry out and crack and the camera/lens becomes compromised. In addition to this, the button, switch ring or rocker that the seal was insulating can become increasingly hard to actuate, particularly the on/off slider on the camera body and lens focus and focal length rings since constant actuation typically agitates these gaskets frequently causing them to dry faster than any other and begin to seize or at least greatly inhibit the actuation of the mechanism.
Pentax are great to work on because they're so simple. Everything goes where you expect. The only gripe I have with them is the different screw sizes which you can't memorize because models come in so infrequently because noone uses them. Shame.
Lumix is something I know the least about due to inexperience with them, which I guess is a good thing when you think about it. They're probably up there with the big 3, but I dont know for sure.
