>>2604158>>2604101>mfw>>2604148It depends on the body you go with & how many lenses you're allowed.
I'd say 7d or 5dmkIII personally, and go with the 24-105 2.8L or 24-70 2.8L - as these give you a nice wide-zoom range. This way you get shallower DoF on the longer end and deep DoF on the wider end.
>>2604123That's Moire.
You can reduce it through plugins, avoid it entirely (avoid surfaces that cause it), or if you soften it ever so slightly in post (or even in camera [throwing it out of focus or using a softening filter]) it may reduce it. This is sort of the curse of most lower-end cameras unfortunately (Aliasing & Moire).
>>2604082Hold off until you know exactly what you want to do.
Both Blackmagics & RED's have a learning curve to them, but if you don't have the other things that will help your work (say, sound equipment, stabilization, lighting) - I'd say wait for the URSA mini (the URSA requires quite a bit of building to become a functional camera, as do any of the REDs really, along with needing a tripod head/legs that can handle the weight [they are much heavier than an a7s]).
Maybe put a bit of that money toward a more ambitious project? (shoot a feature or a few more shorts).
>>2604047Unique looks come with unique ideas. Feel free to experiment with looks, but if you're using it for narrative work - be warned that your audience may not 'get' what you were going for (if that makes sense).
>>2603894or a decent XLR mic (NTG-2 is $226 on B&H right now...). I have to agree though, spending just a bit of extra time/money on sound goes a very long way.
