>>2627800First thing's first: Before you go out and buy a new lens, determine whether it's your camera that's taking poor pictures, or you yourself. My camera has a smaller sensor, lower megapixel count, and a kit lens. Given, it's one of the more expensive and sharper kit lenses, it's not far from what you should expect from your Pentax. By putting the camera on a tripod, setting the aperture to it's optimum (f/8 for my camera) and using a remote to avoid shaking the camera, you can get a look at your cameras best performance on a stationary subject. I did add grain to this image because I like the look, it's completely clean otherwise.
Mike Browne has a good series on youtube that briefly addresses the most common reasons your pictures won't be sharp. It's actually very rare that it's the lens or camera and not the photographer causing the problem in the case of relatively new photographers not getting sharp images.
The Pentax 100mm macro lens is supposed to be good.
