Because that's what all this actually is about; the digital workflow allows you to create ANYTHING, the real difficulty lies in getting there, they are shortcuts to good-looking and useable results.
In the end, all that talk about "color science" and "Film Simulations" is kinda laughable, because they are just filters. But filters are not always a bad thing when you don't think fucking around with one picture is a productive use of your time.
